Luke Garrigus - Contemporary concert music composer, arts administrator, pianist, singer, mandolinist, and conductor - serves as the President of the 501(c)3 new-music organization, Sound Ecologies, and has had works performed and commissioned by the Ronen Chamber ensemble, Circle City Orchestra, Sound Ecologies Orchestra, Sunset Syndicate Saxophone Quartet, and the JCA Composers Orchestra. His music has been described as “intricate, vibrant, sensitive, and alive.” and “a listening experience that is as intellectually rigorous as it is visceral” (Tunite Music). Luke holds a Master’s of Music Composition from Butler University, where he studied with Michael Schelle and Frank Felice, and a Bachelors in Music from the University of Indianapolis, where he studied composition with John Berners. His works have been performed both locally, regionally, and in Oxford and Falmouth England. Luke enjoys conducting, writing music, professional wrestling, playing mandolin, spending time in coffee shops, searching for bugs and other wildlife in local parks, keeping aquariums, raising his australian shepherd-mixes (Peaches & Gary), and spending time with his wonderful wife, Charissa.
